Mkay, so you know how I said I was back? .... yeah Short version of things, out of the blue I've been invited to direct 6 feature-length comedies for TV broadcast, so everything has gone pretty nuts, hence why I've barely been online yet alone writing: I have to assemble a crew, sort out castings, workshop the script (it's going to be adlibbed, so the characters are all being developed in conjunction with the cast), come up with the shooting schedule... We start shooting in 2 weeks, so it's all very last minute and manic. Which leaves me very little time to write, which sucks. I'm trying to work out how I can fit things in, and what I'm going to be cutting loose because I'm not an unemployed bum any more. Hmmph. |

Mostly for my own reference, because I'm loving this line so very much and need to be able to keep track of Enfys' gradual cognitive evolution

SAY IT LOUD. SAY IT PROUD. EMY MUST STOP BEING EASILY ENABLED. EMY DOES NOT NEED TO STALK PEOPLE EVERYWHERE. JUST BECAUSE THERE ARE SLOW PERIODS DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE ROOM FOR MORE CHARACTERS BECAUSE THINGS WILL HAPPEN EVENTUALLY. On a related note STOP AVOIDING DOING HEAVY EMOTIONAL SHIT. I KNOW YOU LIKE SAVING SUCH THINGS UNTIL YOU HAVE TIME TO DEVOTE TO THEM BUT SIRIUSLY. STOP IT. Things Emy needs to do: Waddiwasi James - wakey wakey Elle - superhero!dinner with Doc / tying Moody to a desk and forcing him to give her some mentorly advice even though that'll be awkward as all hell Barty - GET THAT BLOODY PLOT ROLLING. Expugn Get Arthur some interaction. Do something with Andromeda other than try to solve the world's problems. Thread with Molly when Joy's back from hiatus. Waiting for Maraudersmaprpg and Othersiderpg to kick off: Remus muse is a surprisingly eager beaver (or should that be bunny?) I really don't envy DoT Evan his arrival in |

Fun morning today: went across the Cardiff Bay Barrage to look at classic cars. Arthur and Elle enjoyed themselves immensely, Arthur particularly because the barrage was up on the way back and MUGGLE ENGINEERING IS AWESOME.![]() We also found that |

It's true, I'm back :) Ireland was fun. The better half was working for a lot of it so I spent much of my time early on in the week babysitting his cats and playing through Bioshock (he's kidnapped my X-Box for the summer on the grounds that I get his editing suite for the same duration). My 40k battle against his best mate's Crimson Fists went better than I expected, though Typhus' boys new leader combo because I can't get Typhus :( - using Huron and a Nurglite Daemon Prince - wasn't quite as great as I'd hoped (might have to finally flake and buy Abbadon) and we still lost (boo). Said best mate's new daughter is tiny and has crazy blue eyes and sits in her swing and burbles a lot, which is cute, though she didn't seem impressed by her dad's victory and so we need to start the geekifying soon. We also went to a pub where his uncle was doing an acoustic gig, which was fun. We had a little 2-day vacation to Portrush, same as we did last year. Wasn't really anything special but it was nice to get away, just the two of us rather than us, the cats and his mum. We went to this amazing restaurant - I had seafood thermadore which was divine. The deserts were crazy - we tried to tackle this thing called St. Honor's Gateaux which was cheesecake on a meringue base with honeycomb, toffee sauce, sugar stuff and a giant toffee profiterole just for good measure, and had to admit defeat and retreat. He'll be back in about 4-5 weeks. Can't wait. ----- Anyway, onto the important stuff - the games. If anyone would care to sling me updates on anything I miss in this rundown that would be ace. Waddiwasi James is in a coma after defying Voldie-pants. Presumably he'll be waking up soon, though I'll let Lily do her stuff first (although that makes me feel hideously guilty because HOLY CRAP she does not need more angst now post-Dad's death and Dorcas' crippling) and tackle that when I have time to devote to the HEAVY EMOTIONAL SHIT. Anyway, we've established that James hates mornings, so he's sleeping in as per usual *nod* Elliot didn't really kick as much ass as she'd have liked in the Doc vs. DE battle - DEs are cowardly creatures, apparently - and now she's got the taste for it, which she's going to have to reconcile herself with. She's also having to re-evaluate her assumption that the Order are all useless civvies. Possibly more arguing with Moody on the horizon? Also DOC YOU'RE A STUPID BASTARD BUT I'M GLAD YOU'RE NOT DEAD and more of the CLEARLY THIS IS ALL JUST FRIENDLY EMOTION. Evan - everyone slunk off back to his after fleeing the Doc vs. DEs, amirite? He's also not in on the Walden/Alecto plotting to rat out the mole, though he's not on the suspects list either if I'm right? He also missed Ducky's birthday, though I presume she's not too mad at him, and needs to get around to using the presents she gave him (although... poison? Far too quick for muggles, darling). He's been a bit quiet again - presumably because he has a Ducky-alike locked up in the basement as we discussed, Aine. Barty has been experimenting on his intelligent rats and slogging through Obliviator training. Belated birthday greetings to Reggie. I need to get Junior out and about so either Mulciber or Alecto can get their teeth in as previously discussed. Riddikulus Marcus has been off doing some friendly away-games on the continent and should land back with presents for Mora some time soon. Bill gave evidence at Fenrir's trial, and is eagerly awaiting the results of that. Also, missing Egypt. As per usual. Expugn Andromeda - well, we'll start with Nymphadora. Need to play out whatever's happening with Alecto there - kudos to her for stepping up and being creepy given that Dora scribbled unwarded in mummy's journal and all. Andie herself has a playdate with Molly, as I recall? Also, sorting Regulus' head out. Poor girl. Arthur has been building starter motors. I *think* there's an Order meeting in progress which I should pop up in? Also, Gringotts stuff and money-worries. Possibly pawning some of his beloved muggle stuff, and weighing up the excitement of muggle monetary transactions with OH WOE THAT WAS MY VERY FAVOURITE... THING. WHATEVER IT IS. Brokenhome I think I'm pretty much up-to-date with Jamie and need to finish Rab's profile and possible thread him against Geordy / Damien? But aye, mostly-up-to-date until term starts, whenever that is. |

Snagged from Waddiwasi Prongs's bits are best described as his "recalcitrant thunderbolt" Evan's bits are best described as his "punishing cane" (well, that explains why Erin likes him) Elliot's bits are best described as her "hungry honeypot". Junior's bits are best described as his "passionate thorn" Expugn Andromeda's bits are best described as her "viscous hamster". Arthur's bits are best described as his "refined sausage" Riddikulus Marcus's bits are best described as his "blue-veined drumstick" Bill's bits are best described as his "surging transformer". (why couldn't Arthur get that one? Haha) BrokenHome Jamie's bits are best described as his "gargantuan soldier" (OH HELL YES. Because his ego so needed boosting in that regard) Rabastan Etienne Lestrange's bits are best described as his "bulky admiral". Between_RPG Yfaine's bits are best described as her "moist canyon". / Larks's bits are best described as her "rouge-lined halibut". Wash's bits are best described as his "libidinous bagpipe". (HAHAHA. Poetic. With imagery!) |

RUSHED INTO HOSPITAL AT 6AM, OUT NOW: 7 hours in UHW, at first with suspected appendicitis - fail. Panicking that I wouldn't be able to go to Ireland - tragic. Not having any veins, so it seems - amusing. Blood test taking nearly an hour thanks to that and phenomenally low blood pressure - less so. Catheter needles - really bloody long!Only person on the surgery ward allowed to eat (to test whether it was appendicitis - apparently if it was I'd have vomited pea-green a la Exorcist) - awkward. Finding out it's just my ovaries trying to kill me - Priceless.Home now, doped up, tags might be slow and/or incoherent. |

So... about time I started using this CDJ-thing for its actual purpose, non? First, an observation: two of the things I love about RPing are the way the characters take on lives of their own inside your head (not that they ever really went away during my RP hiatus, they just got quiet...) - even if people look at you funny when you start talking about them almost-like split personalities - and the point where you start experiencing emotions-by-proxy. My better half has already commented on the latter - he knows when I'm having a 'James day', for example - and the parents who I, thanks to this damn credit crunch and his being away first at home and then at Uni where non-students can't stay in student accomodation, am currently living with are starting to get used to it as well, even if they don't really accept "I'm feeling Marcus today" as a reason to be pissed off. The point where that starts happening is, for me, the moment when the character-in-question is really *mine*, and it's awesome to feel that happening anew with the new muses I've picked up in this last while. I'd thought I'd regret dipping my toe into post-warts rather than MWPP (my comfort zone and true passion) but I was so very wrong :) And now, a meme. 1) Pick one or more of my characters, and go here to generate 10 random numbers between 1 and 127. Generate a different set of numbers for each character you pick. 2) I will answer the corresponding questions from here from the point of view of the character(s). This list was generated by Rich Taylor for use within White Wolf, and I've used it as a character-based exercise all the way from back when I did PnP (sadly there's no groups here :( ). One day I might tackle it in its entirety for my new toons :) One day. |
